Overview

This idea was born in the West with square dancing roots. In the thick of all this modest dancing, a duel breaks out! Gusher Games took this print-and-play game to conventions and competitions in hopes of publication. To help attract the attention of game publishers, our design needed to be punchy and fun.

How We Helped

We chose playful, bright colors, utilized high-contrast designs, and created simple icons for the card designs. There are three different designs for the backs of the cards to denote the game board and the two players. Each set corresponds to a time of day: high noon, or the game board; dusk, or player 1; and midnight, or player 2.

After several events and playtesting, Do-Si-Duel was published and redesigned by Button Shy.

Heavy Heart does more than provide high-quality design, they take the time to understand your vision so they can better partner with you to leverage their creative talents.  The end result is that they provide you mind-blowing work that is consistent with your vision but ultimately takes it to the next level.  Heavy Heart’s contributions to Do-Si-Duel were a huge part of what ultimately got it published and for that I’m very grateful.
